Travelling exhibition | Regensburg (Germany)

Tomohiro Muda is a Japanese photographer, who has gone on pilgrimage to Santiago twice, making pictures of the Way to offer thus his own view on the pilgrimage.

Muda declares he is a lover of French and Spanish Romanesque, of the pilgrimage and Santiago.

This exhibition was opened in Paris in 2008, where the author expressed the good impression the monastery of Vilar de Donas made on him. Afterwards, the exhibition travelled to Wakayama (Japan), then to Tokio, where it was for three months at the Aida Museum, then to Mexico D.F., and finally to Santiago de Compostela.

Tomohiro Muda was born in 1956 in the Prefecture of Nara, Japan. His career as a photographer started in 1982. In 1988, his first exhibition, "The land of Sherpa", showed pictures taken in the village of Sherpa, in the Himalaya.

Later, he travelled all around the world, taking pictures of the Japanese art, Romanesque and Byzantine art, Buddhist ruins, and Chinese cave paintings, in Borobudur, Angkor and Ajanta. These pictures were shown together in different exhibitions under the title "Spacer for prayer, ways of praying".

There have been other exhibitions of Muda's works, related to "light" and "presence", such as "Rome", "The wall of time", "Iron face" and "Portraits from Poli", an Italian town on the hills.
